    Money is any item or variable record that is generally accepted as payment for goods and services. The main function is that, it is a medium of exchange, a unit of work and a store of value. Knowing terms related to money will help you to start your career in finance or banks.There are many words that can describe money.

    Money is not the most important thing in life, some people may affirm, but how necessary it is! Some things money cannot buy, but it produces, manages, distributes, trades, puts on display, brags, gives importance and meaning. Money cannot buy happiness, but somehow it helps!

    Vocabulary related to money:

    Bread-winner( person who earns money to support their family) – She is the breadwinner in her family.

    Bread and butter(main source of income)- We earn bread and butter for our families.

    Livelihood(means of support)- We are earning livelihood with lot of efforts

    Affluent(wealthy)- In our colony many affluent families are living.

    Mercenary fellow(money oriented) – He is mercenary fellow .

    To burn the candle at both ends(to waste money)-He is burning the candle at both ends

    Hard-cash(money in the form of coins or notes but not a cheque or a credit card) – Hard-cash is required when we are in emergency.

    Mint money(To earn a very large amount of money)- He is minting money in Canada.

    Extort money –That police man extorted money from me.

    Make money- He is making money online.

    Blow money- He blows his money.

    Blue blood(come from privileged, noble families that are wealthy and powerful)- He is blue blood .
